GENERAL
INFORMATION:
We are happy to announce that from the new season 2007/2008,
we are taking over the exclusive commercialization and
operation of "Lodge Los Morros", in the province of
Santa Cruz, Argentina.
Los Morros Lodge is located 110 miles southwest from
Rio Gallegos city, in the southern Patagonia and near
the foothills of the Andes mountains. The estancia,
owned by the Bernad family, occupies a surface of 57.000
acres and is devoted to cattle-breeding and sheep rearing.
The Lodge owns 6,2 miles on both sides of the great
Argentine sea trout river - the Gallegos- and 7,5
miles on both sides of the Penitente river which is
a tributary of the Gallegos river.
The Penitente river, immediately adjacent to the Lodge,
is a delightful stream where you can hook sea run browns
up to 16 pounds and many browns up to 9 pounds. In the
Gallegos river, 5 miles from the house, you will
experience the unforgettable emotion of catching sea
run brown trout up to 18 pounds and enjoy the exciting
adventure of struggling with the most beautiful specimens
of brown trout which can reach 10 pounds or more.
The fishing season opens on November 15th and ends mid-April.
However, January, February and March are considered
the best months for this marvellous sport.

Fly Fishing tackle and
Equipment:
Wading
All of our fishing is in rivers and streams, wading
from the coast. One pair of fly weight chest waders
and one pair of neoprene chest waders is recommended.
The new waders "non-condensation" is the best for walking.
The comfort of your wading shoes is very important also.
Rods
Bring 2-3 rods. A good combination is:
-- 8-91/2; 5/6 weight for dry flies and nymphs.
-- 9-91/2; 7/8 weight for Boca or streamer fishing.
Lines
We suggest:
--Floating lines for each rod.
--Sink tip lines 5-8. (like Scientific Angler Ultra
2 wet tip IV 10 or Tenny Nymph Tip)
--Shooting head sink tip line 7-8 weight (Teeny T200
or T300 or shooting line sink V).
--Optional: Intermediate sinking line. Baking 75 - 100
yards is sufficient.
Leaders
From 4 to 12 feet long. Tippet material is extremely
important in Argentina. The trout are very strong and
powerful. Your tippet material should be sheer resistant
as well as have the maximum breaking strength in small
daymeters.
Flies
Bring plenty of flies. You can lose 6-10 flies a day
on snags, in trees, by breaking off fish or on stones.
Streamers: Wooky
