GENERAL
INFORMATION:
Coyhaique is located 1,649 km from Santiago de Chile.
The closest airport is in Balmaceda, just 55 km from
the city and the journey between the two airports takes
3 hours. It is a 1-hour drive from Balmaceda to the
cabbins or the Lodge where the anglers stay.
Coyhaique is regarded as one of the best flyfishing
destinations in the world. Its reputation is becoming
increasingly important due to the vast variety of species,
the quality of the fishing, the amazing landscapes and
the great hospitality of the people.
The fly fishing in the Aysen area offers good quantity
and quality of catches as it is home to Brown and
Rainbow Trout (some of them reach 14 pounds) and
up to 40-pound Chinook or King Salmon, from December
through February.
The fishing days may change from day to day, as they
depend on the weather and fishing conditions. We fish
the rivers Ñirehuao, Emperador Guillermo, Simpson,
Mañihuales, Cisnes, several spring creeks in the
area and lagoons with private access and sections, such
as Cerro Castillo and La Tapera. We only work with
2 experienced guides, so we can take up to 4 anglers
per week. 4x4 vehicles, catarrafts and belly boats
are provided.
